THE DEL TOROS KEEP THEIR COOL
The Del Toros : Come Down (CD) (2010)|by Joe Cinocca
The Del Toros present a wide spectrum of sounds on "Come Down". Laying a concrete foundation of Blues, the band explores everything from Indie Pop, Western Swing, Classic Rock & Bluegrass.
Davey Rumsey's vocals are unique and interesting in a "bright-eyes-connor-oberst" sort of way, but not as stripped down. As I listen to the songs, I hear subtle nuances with the vocal inflections. At the end of the day, this album is not something you want to lift weights or do cardio to. This record is perfect for reading, playing with your pets or just relaxing on a lazy Sunday. This batch of songs has a woodsy charm that isn't easy to capture in a recording.
